#1 Little Miss Dhany

Hello, Universe!

-1988-

In a far away land of Durian and Rambutan, a mother was about to give birth to a baby. There were something special about her pregnancy and the coming baby.

1. Doctor couldn’t ‘confirm’ the gender until the very last moment,
2. The mother got infected by Rubella Virus, so there was a high possibility that the baby will born with physical disabilities.

These conditions made this pregnancy somewhat different to the previous ones. The baby needed a special treatment and good doctor to minimize the risk.

Langsa, a tiny village where the mother and her husband lived (with their 2 daughters) had no hospital. The closest hospital was in another Province, which required them to drive 2 – 3 hours! So when the baby couldn’t wait any longer to see the world, this small family rushed to the hospital in Medan city to let this mysterious baby out of the womb. Yep, a city baby.

Thursday midnight of June 3rd, 1988.. Miracle happened!
Through an operation, the BABY GIRL was born HEALTHY!! Without any physical disabilities! And she was… seriously healthy. Even a bit bigger and fluffier than any other newborn babies. That made the baby – proudly saying – the cutest one that night. Haha. Kidding!

The Doctor clearly made a wrong judgement, he should apologize and give me life-time medical support.

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, how Little Dhany was born to give a bit of color to this world.

Litte Dhany is still a Little Dhany. My growth stopped at 4’8. But best things come in small packages, right?

Long story short, I lived in Singapore and Japan but now I’m settling down in my home country, Indonesia. The land of Durian and Rambutan.

I’m pretty lucky. I have cool job, sometimes visit places for free, I’m the envy of many people my age.

But the truth is, I’ve been struggling with depression for almost 7 years. HAHA! You didn’t expect that coming, did you?

It took a long time for me to accept the reality. Spent crazy amounts of money for therapy and pills, but somehow it didn’t make me feel…better.

Until one day, someone who lives 7000 miles away helped me and gave me hope. And here I am now, starting my life, fresh!

I believe life has its ups and downs. Sometimes I feel like  the oldest 26 years old lady in the world, but looking at the bright side, this journey of life has taught me how to be wiser. I am indeed, a miracle baby! I have survived the darkest, lowest, saddest moments of my life and ready to start again.

Here I’ll write about my passion, my present life, how I survived, what made me survive and many more. There will be lots of stories, foods, postcards, CATS ( I have two and expecting more!) and of course, JAKARTA CITY.

If I can make it, then you can make it too. You are never alone.
